Busy Days

Well the past few days have been so busy, me and the kids went to Hastings for the day and had so much fun with my nan. We visited the marina there and had fun playing in their super awesome park.

I finished as much of the handspun cat as I could without putting eyes and a nose on, but they are on their way from USA so now it is a waiting game.

I had so much yarn left over from this project that I made a little bird.

Well that's all I have for now, I will be back after Christmas.

HAVE A HAPPY HOLIDAYS AND A MERRY CHRISTMAS

Birthday Mischeif

Well on Saturday it was my little ones 4th birthday, and of all days it was the only one with flash flooding storms predicted for the day. So much for a nice summer.

We ended up having a small BBQ with just family, and to add a little excitement for his birthday he decided to jump into the deep end of a pool (no he cannot swim). We were very lucky that his aunt's friend jumped in and saved him and unfortunately this won't deter him from repeating this action in the near future.

I have been working on my confetti the zombie cat project for the past 2 days, and not having the correct yarn weight means modifications to get it to look right, but they are worth it because my handspun is looking good. I love how the ears have ended up brown, this was not intentional.

I am planning on doing some scrapping soon, but it may need to wait till after Christmas, seeing it looks like a busy one for me, especially seeing I have the pleasure of doing a 3 hour stretch of gift wrapping in out local plaza on the 24th December....YAY

Escaped Time

Wow how time escapes when you lead a busy life.

I still am so unorganized this Christmas, however been busy for the past few months. I think I will be moving after Christmas, so getting things organized is a huge royal pain in my arse.

I am loving knitting at the moment, spinning has been on the back burner a little lately.

I made the boys all beanies over the past 2 weeks, shame summer is upon us now.

Quick stop over in Inverlock, and they decided to go for a swim.

Bike riding is now Adam's new hobby, and the kids are loving it.

I will try and update more often, but time is not on my side these days.

Craft Share Session 4

This flu bug I picked up has been making it so hard to do anything lately. However I do have 1 finished project and have casted on a project as well.

WIPS

Iris the Gourmet Monster by Rebecca Danger
- Madelinetosh Bulky in the Turquoise colourway
- I have only just cast on, so I am up to row 37 of the body but I am loving the colours. I am using a size 4mm needle, which I think is a little too small, but I couldn't be bothered changing once I started so it is a very tight knit.

On The Bobbin

I would love to get these off the bobbins, but I am waiting for my yardage counter. It has been too long and I am running out of bobbins.

FatCatKnits Fibers - London Fog Colourway
- 6oz SW BFL Combed Top
- This is 6oz of N-Plyed yarn in a dk weight. I am excited to see this off the bobbin, just to see how the plying is throughout the whole lot.

Cupcake Fiber Company - Nigeria & Wonder Colourways- BFL/Nylon Batts
- This is 4oz of N-Plyed yarn in a dk weight. I have only used 4 of the 12oz for this lot of fiber, but I am hoping to get a self striping sock pattern out of this one.

Crown Mountain Farms - I Put A Spell On You Colourway
- SW Merino
- I have only done a little of 2oz on this, but I am planning on N-plying, in the hope to get a fingering weight yarn.

Completed Projects

Peekaboo Mitts by Abi Connors
- Knit Picks Chroma in the Atlantis Colourway
- I love this pattern now, I got these done in a day and for me that is awsome. I am going to start mine in my handspun. These were made on size 4mm needles, which made the pattern fit my 10 year old perfect.

Recent Purchases

I have been a little naughty this fortnight, but some I have been waiting over 3 weeks for.

716x Knits - Jackets, Kilts and No Boys Colourway
- 100% Sw Mernio (Self-Striping yarn)

Into The Whirled - Brandywine
- 4oz Polwarth

Into The Whirled - Cloud Nine
- 4oz 80/20 Merino/Silk

What's Happening Here

Absolutely nothing has been happening here apart from a household full of the flu. I have done no scrapping, and very little knitting over the past 2 weeks. I did more spinning, but only because of Tour De Fleece, but even with that I am forcing myself to do it.

So thanks for stopping by and if you want to ask any questions please feel free to message me either here or in ravelry

Craft Share Session 2

This is my crafty share session for the 26th June 2012

WIPS - Only what I worked on this week

I haven't really had a lot of time to knit this week, but I do plan on doing heaps this week coming.

Peekaboo Mitts by Abi Connors
- Cascade 220 in the Black colourway
- This is the first knitted project I have done in the round, and although parts are easy, I am really loving YouTube at the moment because I am struggling with the thumb part of the pattern.

On The Bobbin

Into The Whirled in the Fierce & Flawless Colourway
- 100% BFL Top
- I have attempted to spin this worsted weight, but so far I have overs pun it and think I may need to frog half of the first lot. I just can't seem to thicken my spinning.

Noodle Creations in the Houndoom Colourway
- 100% Superfine Merino (17.5 Micron Count)
- This has been fractual spun this as a 2-ply and love how it has came out, but I am not intending on putting this in a hank until I get my yardage counter. It is a light fingering to a lace weight, but I really wanted to try my first pair of socks out of this, now I am not too sure.

Completed Projects

Just Enough Ruffles by Laura Chau
- Lorna's Lace  Worsted Multi in Amy's Vintage Office Colourway
- I really enjoyed making this scarf, I found it easy to follow which says a lot seeing I am only a knitting learner. I can see making a few more of these in different colourways. Zombie BBQ is the next colourway i am planning on starting.

Flutter Baby Top by Lion Brand Yarn
- Knit Picks Chroma Worsted in Rollerskate Colourway
- This was so fast to finish even though I had to redo the arms two times...grrrrr. It is currently on it's way to America to meet it's new owner, who I hope really loves it.

Recent Purchases

Apart from receiving my Into The Whirled June Club fiber I really didn't get anything new this week ( I was a good girl for once), but I do have a few new hanks planned for the next two weeks

What's Happening Here

I almost finished a scrapbooking page today, but I was photo-less. I just need to go and print off some pics that I took of the kids.

So thanks for stopping by and if you want to ask any questions please feel free to message me either here or in ravelry

Forever Ongoing

When I Started spinning I never realized that it would take me more than 2 days to do a single ply and another day to ply it. At the moment it feels like it is taking FOREVER. However I finally finished my Houndoom merino top, but I will not put it in a hank until I get my yardage counter.

I feel so lazy getting a counter, but I really cannot be bothered working it out manually.

Crafty Share Session 1

So this is my crafty share session for the 19th June 2012

WIPS - Only what I worked on this week.

Just Enough Ruffles by Laura Chau
- Lorna's Lace  Worsted Multi in Amy's Vintage Office Colourway
- I have 2 rows left then this will be my first completed knitted project...yay
- I have really enjoyed making this scarf, I found it easy to follow which says a lot seeing I am only a knitting learner. I can see making a few more of these in different colourways.

Jake Hoodie by Martin Storey
-  Patons Classic Totem 8ply in Charcoal and Pale Blue Colourways
- I have the hood and ribbed edging to go still, but it is moving extremely slow at the moment.

Flutter Baby Top by Lion Brand Yarn
- Knit Picks Chroma Worsted in Rollerskate Colourway
- I just have to redo my arms a little wider then sew the sides and post it off to it's new owner.
 Bullseye by Brittany Tyler
-  Knit Picks Chroma Worsted in multiple colourways
- This is also moving slow, I had a rush when I started but now it feels like a chore but I know I have to finish it.

I have a lot of other projects started but I haven't touched any of them this week, so I am leaving them for another time

On The Bobbin

Noodle Creations in the Shark Attack Colourway
- 100% Merino (23 Micron Count)
- I have done 65gms so far and plan on N-Plying it. I have found spinning the 23 count is very course and has more lumps that go through it. However I am hoping to have it done by next week.

Noodle Creations in the Houndoom Colourway
- 100% Superfine Merino (17.5 Micron Count)
- I love how smooth this feels in my fingers as I spin it. I would love to fractual spin this wool top. So far I have spun 65gms straight from the sliver, now I plan on separating the remainder into 3 strips and spinning those together on a separate bobbin and making a 2-Ply

Completed Projects

I have no completed objects this week

Recent Purchases

I splurged a little this week

For my Mystery Shawl called Rockefeller by WestKnits I purchased 2 Wollmeises skeins from ravelry in the Sockenwolle 80/20 Twin 47Ag and Schwefel Twin colourways.

I brought 3 lots of batts and custom orders another 2 sets from the Cupcake Fiber Company

I purchased the Kaisercraft Check In papers from Sassy Scrapper

What's Happening Here

This week I signed up for the Mystery Shawl called Rockefeller by WestKnits
- I have chosen to use Wollmeise in the Sockenwolle 80/20 Twin 47Ag and Schwefel Twin colourway.
- I love the thought of making this out of grey and green, but I am excited just to be apart of the Kal.

I have been doing the Stash Dash with The Knit Girllls and not doing as well I wanted, I am at 7.5% of my goal :(, but I haven't counted anything that is not finished yet.  So I should start making some headway on that soon.

I haven't done any scrapbooking this week, but I do plan on creating at least 1 page before the end of next week, but I guess I will see how that goes.

Ummmm I don't think I have much more to add, and this seems really really long to me.

So thanks for stopping by and if you want to ask any questions please feel free to message me either here or in ravelry
